The Gift that Keeps Giving

Speak Lord; I’m Listening – Daily Bite-Size Encouragement – Day 27

Our Forever Gift

Salvation in Jesus Christ is our forever gift from God. “We receive salvation in Christ through repentance and faith. This means turning away from sinful ways (repentance) and turning to God (faith), trusting in Christ. Jesus will forgive your sins and set you on a path to life with Him. We cannot earn this right, it is His free gift.”1

The Romans Road

Romans 3:10 – The Problem is Everyone Has Sinned

“There is no one righteous; no, not one.” We have to understand that our sin separates us from a holy God.

Romans 3:23 – The Predicament is We All Fall Short of God’s Holiness

“For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 5:8 – The Penalty is Paid – God Loves Us and Sent Jesus

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 6:23 – We Deserve Death, but are Offered Life in Christ

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 10:9-10 – The Price of the Cross and Provision of Jesus

“If we will confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation.”

Romans 10:13 – We Are Adopted and Become a Part of God’s Family

“Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Prayer

Lord, I know that I have sinned by breaking Your rules, and grieving Your heart. I deserve punishment, but I ask You to forgive me of my sins. I receive what Jesus did on the Cross for me when He died for my sins, paid the penalty in full, and set me free by His Blood. I receive the gift of salvation from my sins. I turn from the way I am walking, and commit to following You.

I receive what Jesus did when He rose from the dead and conquered death, hell and the grave. I receive the gift of Your Holy Spirit to lead, and guide me in truth, and in how to live and move and have my being in You.

Thank you for holding the key of David, and shutting doors of my past that no one can open, and opening doors for me that no one can shut. I trust You to lead and protect me. Thank you for providing a way of escape from every temptation. Thank you for making a way of freedom and liberty, I will walk in Your promised freedom by the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus Name. Amen.
