We need encouragement! Just as “David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God,” we can encourage and strengthen ourselves in the Lord. Today, we are going to the Word of God for encouragement for our spirit and our soul.1
ENCOURAGEMENT for Today
E – Every Good Gift
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.” ~James 1:17 NASB
N – Now Faith Assures Hope
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” ~Hebrews 11:1 NASB
C – Come to Jesus
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good – not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.” ~Matthew 11:28-30 AMPC
O – O Majestic Lord
“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!” ~Psalm 8:9 NASB
U – Unless We Trust the Lord
“Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain.” ~Psalm 127:1 NASB
R – Remember the Holy One
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” ~Exodus 20:8 WEB
A – And Jesus Spoke
“And Jesus came up and said to them, ‘All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually – regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.” ~Matthew 28:18-20 AMP
G – Give God Glory
“Give praise to our God, all you His servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great.” ~Revelation 19:5b WEB
E – Each Gives Cheerfully
“(Let) each one give [thoughtfully and with purpose] just as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver [and delights in the one whose heart is in his gift].” ~2 Corinthians 9:7 AMP
M – My House of Prayer
“My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.” ~Isaiah 65:7c NASB
E – Each One is Comforted
“Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me.” ~Psalm 23:4 AMP
N – Now Salvation Comes
“Now to Him Who is able to keep you from stumbling or falling into sin, and to present you unblemished [blameless and faultless] in the presence of His glory with triumphant joy and unspeakable delight, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and power, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” ~Jude 24-25 AMP
T – The Fear of the Lord
“The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding.” ~Proverbs 9:10 AMPC
May your heart be encouraged and strengthened in the Lord! And from this encouragement, may your strength be renewed like the eagle!
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become tired or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding.
He gives strength to the weary, and to him who has no might He increases power.
Even youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, but those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power;
They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not grow tired.” ~Isaiah 40:28-31 AMP
