I Will Carry You

Shepherd Will Carry His Sheep

The Lord as the Good Shepherd promises to carry us as a shepherd carries his lambs.

“He will protect His flock like a shepherd, He will gather the lambs in His arm, He will carry them in His bosom; He will gently and carefully lead those nursing their young.” ~Isaiah 40:11 AMP

God Saves Us

God gently carries us, rescues us, bears us up, strengthens us, and delivers us from our enemies.

“For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’” ~Isaiah 41:13 NASB

“Even to your old age I am He, and even to hair white with age will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear; yes, I will carry and will save you.” ~Isaiah 46:4 AMPC

“For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, that you do not strike your foot against a stone.” ~Psalm 91:11-12 NASB

The Good Shepherd Carries Us

I’m so thankful the Good Shepherd carries us by caring for our spiritual and physical needs.

“The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack. He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.

He refreshes me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him – not for my earning it, but] for His name’s sake.

Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.

Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.” ~Psalm 23 WEB

He Gives Rest

God invites us to come to Him for rest. He takes our cares, burdens, and dreams upon Himself, then gently leads and guides us in the way of life.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]” ~Matthew 11:28 WEB

I’m so thankful we can come to Him, be refreshed in His Presence, be renewed in His Love, and we be carried by Him when in need. He is Faithful and True and every season of our lives. We can trust Him!

  1. Lisa, Thank you for these verses to meditate on to remember the promises of God, promises that show He will never leave us and not only that but that He carrys us through difficult time. I will reflect on these verses especially now, when events of the world are so confusing and heavy! Your FMF friend, Wendy

  2. I love the way you have brought all these verses together in the context of carry. And the photo shows me that the Shepherd indeed is able to carry a heavy load, not just a little lamb on His shoulders.
Visiting from FMF, #1 this week.

  3. Yeah, OK, I have been shot,
    yeah, OK, it’s really true,
but, mate, you must doubt this not,
that I will come back for you.
There are those who weeping wait
that one day you may return,
    fearing the fell newsroom fate
that in hell you’re gonna burn,
so I will thus turn away
    from the refuge offered me
and by intention stay in play
    not for the final victory
but at my loss of limb and life
to see you to your crying wife.
