God Is Generous
Generous gift giving is a daily occurrence with God. Every morning, He gives us His compassion, lovingkindness and mercy.
“The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” ~Lamentations 3:22-23 NASB
God generously gives us life and breath. In the beginning of our life, and every second that we exist, our every breath is a gift from God.
“He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things.” ~Acts 17:25b NASB
The gift of eternal life is a generous gift from God the Father to all who are willing to be adopted into His family of love forever.
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.” ~John 3:16 AMP
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” ~Ephesians 2:8 WEB
“By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.” ~1 John 4:9 WEB
“But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.” ~Romans 5:8 AMPC
“[God] Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, but now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, Who abolished death and brought life and immorality to light through the gospel.” 2 Timothy 1:9-10 NASB
Every good and generous gift originates from the heart of the God of love.
“Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.” ~James 1:17 NASB
“It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor).” ~2 Corinthians 5:19 AMPC
God is generous in His love towards us – in the gift of life, the gift of breath, His new mercies every morning, and in the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, Who extends us the opportunity to live with Him forever in eternity.
Behind every gift is the generous gift-giver. And every gift has a recipient who is willing to receive the gift extended to them. Will I receive His generous gift extended to me today of lovingkindness, compassion and mercy? Will you?

Thanks for these reminders that God is generous and gives generously to those who ask. I’m visiting from FMF.
He is so generous and kind to us, Lauren!
I died, and in my dying left
body which had been garb and glove
to rise into the warp and weft
of a bright eternal Love.
I longed to stay, for I was home,
the place where I was meant to be,
no longer made to toil and roam,
searching for my destiny.
But I guess I had more to learn,
for God bade me to go back
and said that, in my return,
I would no longer feel the lack
of vision with which I’d now been gifted,
to use that others’ hopes be lifted.
In His Presence is perfect love and peace. It does take away all the fear and leaves only longing to be reunited with Him.
I really enjoyed reading your blog this morning. I loved all the Scriptures you used. I wrote a very similar blog to yours. I guess we were on the same wave length.

It is fun, Terri, when God has several of us write in the same vein, bringing to light the nuances of Who He is.
Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift! He is so loving and kind to take care of our biggest need–salvation–but also our everyday cares as well.

So many great truths here, Lisa. The one from James 1 particularly jumped out for me and will go in my journal today. Thanks for sharing. Kath, your FMF neighbour at #28 this week.
I’m so glad the Lord blessed you today, Kath!
Thank you, Lisa, for this wonderful encouragement today! I was just pondering God’s generosity this morning, in His time and love for me throughout my day. He never puts me on hold or makes me wait but is continually inviting me to spend time with Hm!
He is so generous, Donna! I so appreciate His faithfulness to draw near to us when we draw near to Him. And His mercies are new every morning!
