To Heal and Restore
To heal is “to restore to soundness” whether in spirit, soul or body. Healing restoration can also apply to relationships, buildings, finances or the natural elements in our environment, such as water. Restoration speaks of recovery, renewal, even revival.
With Healing in His Wings
God speaks of Jesus coming with healing in His wings,
“For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace, and all the arrogant (proud, self-righteous, haughty), and every evildoer shall be stubble; and the day that is coming shall set them on fire,” says the Lord of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. But for you who fear My name [with awe-filled reverence] the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go forward and leap [joyfully] like calves [released] from the stall. You will trample the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this,” says the Lord of hosts.” ~Malachi 4:1-3 AMP
The prophet Malachi speaks of the impending judgment of God for all those who dishonor Him. Yet to all those who respect God – they will find healing, restoration, and freedom. Malachi appeals for the People of God to be faithful to the One Who is Faithful and True. [BR]
Though God is speaking of judgment, we can recall through the words of David that God is ever present with us.
“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your Presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.” ~Psalm 139:7-8 NASB
Jesus is Messiah
“Malachi foretold of the ‘sun of righteousness’ who would arise with ‘healing in His wings.’ This prophecy immediately became associated with the coming Son of David – the Messiah.” [BN]
When we believe Jesus is the promised Sun of Righteousness, we are declaring that Jesus is the Messiah. The Healer. The Repairer of the Breach. The Restorer of Paths with Dwellings. The One who renews our strength like an eagle. Let us turn to Him Who is able to save us.1

great verses! I appreciate these as I work through some emotional healing this week!
I’m so glad you were encouraged, Lauren! May the Lord continue to bring wholeness.
I love the verses from Malachi and that
Faith that God condemns evil but brings some restoration and good out of even the worst evil.
Yes, Letitia, He does work all things together for good.
Lisa, the very same verse came to mind when I saw the word prompt. The Sun of Righteousness – the One mighty to save. Amen.
I’m so thankful the Sun of Righteousness arises to heal, Joanne.
And how do we desire
Almighty God to heal the land?
Do we want the cleansing fire
or winnowing fan?
We have enshrined tolerance,
made idol of Make Nice,
but we have fallen at this fence,
have let in more than vice.
We’ve invited prideful sin
to government and home,
and now at last we must begin
(as we should have known)
to put away our childish games
that we might not face the flames.
Repentance can make all the difference, Andrew, as He said He would respond to our humility by healing our land.
Lisa thank you for this comforting message. I appreciated your encouragement here as I am going through a particularly almost unbearable fibro flare. Blessings.
Also thank you for linking up with Sweet Tea & Friends this month.
I’m excited about your new website design and your new link-up as you intentionally move forward, Paula! Oh, I’m sad to hear of the fibro flare, Paula, and pray that the Lord will encourage your heart as you rest and recover. May the Lord renew your strength as an eagle.
