Make Music unto the Lord

Make Music to the Lord

Make Music unto the Lord

Music is an important aspect of our praise and worship unto the Lord. King David used music upon his harp as a beautiful accompaniment to his songs of praise to the Lord of Hosts.

“He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; many will see and fear and will trust in the Lord.” ~Psalm 40:3 NASB

“O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation!” ~Psalm 95:1 AMPC

“Praise the Lord! For the Lord is good; sing praises to His name, for it is gracious and lovely!” ~Psalm 135:3 AMPC

Music to the One We Adore

Adoration is ‘the act of addressing’ God in worship. Adoration can be expressed through bowing, kneeling, or laying prostrate.

“Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.” ~Psalm 95:6 NASB

“Therefore God also highly exalted Him, and gave to Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” ~Philippians 2:1-11 WEB

“And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, ‘To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.” ~Revelation 5:13 NASB

Music in His Presence

In the song, Stay Amazed, we are encouraged to focus completely on God which inspires us to gaze upon the Lord in the beauty of His holiness. Stay Amazed Chorus:

O holy God, I stay amazed

You are so much more than words could ever say

O holy God, I pour out my praise

On the One who never ceases to amaze

I’m pouring out my praise on You

I’m pouring out my love on You

I’m pouring out my praise on You

I’m pouring out my love.

God’s love is so incredible, we are compelled to respond to Him in thanksgiving, praise, and adoration. Music is an important aspect of our praise and worship! Let us praise Him for He is worthy!

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.” ~Psalm 100:4 NASB

  1. Praise the name of mighty God,
let each voice be raised in song,
but please do not think it odd
that I decline to sing along.
God made me handsome, gave me style,
filled me up with fun and wit,
    installed a million-flashbulb smile
in me, His Asian Brad Pitt.
But He has cautioned that I not
    ever try to sing a note;
it does seem He quite forgot
to give my rhythm, and a vote
by those who did fail to escape
my efforts favoured tight duct tape.

  2. Lisa, the song you shared is new to me and just beautiful. This one will be playing over and over throughout the day. May we always stay amazed at Who our God is for He is truly so much ore than our words could ever say! Thank you for this post!

  3. What a beautiful post and a beautiful song you shared! I have never heard that song before today. May we always remember to give God all our praise and adoration. Visiting from FMF #7

    1. I’m so glad you like the song, Lori, it’s one of my favorites! He is worthy of praise and adoration!

  4. I look forward to this day, while at the same time, having a hard time imagining it “And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying,….”

  5. I love songs that give examples of why our God is so praiseworthy – so many current ones just assume, and I think of the people who need to know why with real examples in songs. I’m not the loudest singer in a congregation (not my gifting area), yet, in my private places, when it’s just me and God, I do sing His praises and it changes everything.

  6. Lisa, I like this so much. I always think that God loves to hear us sing and He gives us songs. It’s going to be the best Heavenly Choir we get to heaven.
