Astonishing and Epic Beauty Makes for Tremendous Praise

Epic Beauty

The Lord is astonishing, amazing, full of beauty, and worthy of our praise and worship!

David Beholds God’s Beauty

David played his string instrument and worshiped the Lord in the beauty of His holiness.

“Ascribe to the Lord the glory and honor due His name; bring an offering [of thanksgiving], and come before Him; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.” ~1 Chronicles 16:29 AMP

“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due to His name; worship the Lord in holy array.” ~ Psalm 29:2 NASB

David was enamored with the Lord and requested the favor of God to enter into His house to bless Him for His majesty.

“One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple.” ~Psalm 27:4 NASB

“Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty.” ~Psalm 104:1 NASB

May we become equally enamored with God’s beauty and worship Him for He is worthy to be praised.

Throne Room Praise

We desire to join with those around Your throne room praising You for Your astonishing beauty.

“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.” ~Revelation 4:8b NASB

“Worthy art You, our lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will, they existed, and were created.” ~Revelation 4:11 NASB

“To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.” ~Revelation 5:13b

“Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.” ~Revelation 19:6b NASB

Women and Beauty

The Lord desires for women of God to go beyond the exterior beauty our culture demands to find the inner beauty that is more valuable than rubies.

“Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above rubies.” ~Proverbs 31:10 WEB

“Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain [because it is not lasting], but a woman who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praised!” ~Proverbs 31:30 AMPC

“Your adornment must not be merely external with interweaving and elaborate knotting of the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or [being superficially preoccupied with] dressing in expensive clothes; but let it be [the inner beauty of] the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, [one that is calm and self-controlled, not over-anxious, but serene and spiritually mature] which is very precious in the sight of God.” ~1 Peter 3:3-4 AMP

Lord, we desire to clothe ourselves with the inner beauty that does not fade away, but last forever. We want to behold You and to be transformed into Your image. May we show forth the beauty of Christ and be image bearers of Christlikeness for Your glory. Amen.

  1. Lisa, thank you for the beautiful reminder of the beauty of worship. King David ascribed to God’s beauty. I am in awe of the references you gave us on beauty. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Beautiful in the eyes of God. Have a blessed day. Diana

    1. We have the amazing privilege to worship Him in His beauty, Diana! Thank you for your blessing! May the Lord bless you today!

  2. Lisa, that’s just how I feel “enamored with God’s beauty and worship Him for He is worthy to be praised.” And worship and praise him indeed.
Thanks so much for sharing this with Sweet Tea & Friends this month dear friend.

  3. I was recently able to sit and enjoy the coast. I was struck with the thought that if looking at the beauty of God’s creation restores my soul, how much more wonderful it will be when in heaven we behold the Creator Himself.

    1. God’s beautiful creation does restore our soul, Debbie! Yes, to behold Him face-to-face will be such a delight!
