Rely on the Lord
King Solomon encourages us to rely on the Lord for understanding and direction.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” ~Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB
King David reveals the trust he learned as a shepherd boy tending to his father’s sheep. David had to rely on the Lord to protect his life and David had to rely on the Lord to strengthen him to protect his flock.
“Trust [rely on and have confidence] in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and feed [securely] on His faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him also and He will do it. He will make your righteousness [your pursuit of right standing with God] like the light, and your judgment like [the shining of] the noonday [sun].” ~Psalm 37:3-6 AMP
God is Love
The Apostle John affirmed God’s very nature when he pronounced ‘God is love’ in 1 John.1
“What does it mean that God is love? Love is an attribute of God. Love is a core aspect of God’s character, His Person. God is the perfect example of true love. God has given those who receive His Son Jesus as their personal Savior the ability to love as He does, through the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~Got Questions
The Apostle Paul proclaims God’s love to us through Christ’s offering on the Cross.
“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” ~Romans 5:8 NASB
Unlock Transformation
The Apostle Paul declares transformation comes when Christ Jesus comes to live within us.
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].” ~2 Corinthians 5:17 AMP
And Paul contends we can rely upon God’s Word to transform our minds.
“Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” ~Romans 12:2 AMPC

It makes such a difference when we rely on God. This is a great collection of verses and I enjoyed that version of Psalm 23.
It does makes a HUGE difference when we rely on God, Lesley.
I love Proverbs 3:5. That was a memory verse for our PreK class last year! It is such a good one. <3

It’s clear I must rely on God
and not eat from that fatal tree,
but more and more (I find it odd!)
I see how God relies on me
for the witness only I can give,
for a faith that some find quite unique
that came from how I chose to live,
and the truths I chose to seek.
If I refused, what would He do?
I’m sure He has a back-up plan,
but all the same, I know it’s true
(and here must strive to play the man)
that the story with which I’ve been graced
cannot in this world be replaced.
