Spring Provision
The Lord says, “There is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”1 The Lord promises spring rains to water the earth and to bring forth the harvest.
“Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; it is the Lord who sends the thunderstorms. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone.” ~Zechariah 10:1 NIV
“Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge Him. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” ~Hosea 6:3 NIV
“Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.” ~James 5:7 NIV
Spring Guidance
The Lord’s natural provision of spring rains assures us that He will provide for us. We can trust Him to lead and guide us as our Shepherd.
“You are our shepherd: You cause us to lack nothing. You have us lie down in green pastures and You lead us beside still waters. You restore our soul. You guide us in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil, for You are with us. Your rod and staff, they comfort us. You prepare a table before us in the presence of our enemies. You anoint our head with oil, our cup runs over; surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow us all the days of our lives and we will dwell in Your house forever.” ~Psalm 23
Spring Hope
Each gardener plants seeds in the spring with the expectation of a plant coming forth to give us its fruit. God plants us, waters us, and expects godly fruit in us this season.
“He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper.” ~Psalm 1:3 WEB
Let us not grow weary this year. Let us receive the Lord’s provision, guidance and hope this Spring of 2022. Let us follow Him and plant seeds of love, kindness and hope. And in our planting, let us look with expectation that the Master Gardener will bring forth a great harvest.

I’m glad you were encouraged, Terri!
Lisa, I so enjoyed this post. None of the above mentioned verses came to my mind when I saw the word prompt. I love how the Lord directs us all differently. Each verse was such a precious reminder this morning!
He is so kind to lead and guide us, Joanne! It is nice when we all get the same verse, and it serves as an affirmation to us. Yet, it is also nice when we have different verses and they all fit together like pieces of a puzzle, giving us a larger perspective because of community.
The recent days have not been kind,
and it’s an end I’m going toward,
but it’s best, I always find
to put my trust in Christ the Lord,
for as He walks this road with me
(He’s walked a hard road of His own)
I see the greatest victory,
the knowing that I’m not alone.
And so we travel through the night;
by my side I hear His tread,
our path suffused by golden light,
a beauty of the way ahead
on which I go with confidence
to my eternal residence.
That’s beautiful, Andrew! Truth brought forth through the fire of the furnace shines bright and clear!
Just lovely Lisa, I appreciated these verses and I appreciate you. Blessings.

I’m glad you were encouraged, Paula. I appreciate you too!
How often we forget that God expects us to grow and produce and not just exist!
So true, Anita! By the power of His Holy Spirit, we can grow and produce.

I so glad you were encouraged, Dee!
Lisa I appreciate these verses about rain and planting and gardening. It’s such a vivid reminder that we have our roles in life (i.e. planting seeds) and God has His roles in our lives (to bring the rain). When I focus on doing what He’s given me to do, rather than focusing on what others are doing/accomplishing or what God’s role is, much more fruit will be yielded in my life.
So true, Jeanne, gardening helps us remember the Master Gardener!
Thank you for these verses to celebrate spring with the Word of God.
I’m so glad you were encouraged, Theresa!
