Will we store our treasure in heaven or here on earth? Each of us comes face-to-face with this question as we decide how to spend our time. Jesus encourages us to store our treasures in heaven.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” ~Matthew 6:19-21 NASB

What does God consider a treasure worthy to be laid in heaven?
“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” ~Micah 6:8 NASB
“For God’s Kingdom is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.” ~Romans 14:17 WEB
The Lord encourages us to walk in justice, kindness, humility, righteousness, peace, and joy which we can only do by the power of the Holy Spirit of God who lives within us when we invite God into our hearts to live.

Thank you, Lisa. I’m glad you asked us to reflect on what are treasures worthy to lay up in heaven. Sometimes this scripture is quoted and we don’t reflect any further. Merry Christmas
Reflection is such an important aspect of this season, Karen. May you have a peaceful and grace-filled Christmas!

Wonderful! Yes, I was tracking with you along a similar pathway of thought. Thank you for your words today as I ponder what I have stored up and what needs to go.
Merry Christmas!
Perspective makes a huge difference in what we keep and what we let go of in our pondering, Lisa. May you have a peaceful and grace-filled Christmas!
Lisa, Christmas blessings to you. I’ve enjoyed our visits back and forth this year and learn much from your wisdom. Thanks for going the 2nd mile as I’ve moved to a different online home. You hanging in there with me was such an encouragement.
May we delight at what God is doing in our lives as we seek the best ways to serve Him in the year ahead.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Linda! I appreciate your online friendship, and I look forward to our journey together in 2024.
Do I have some treasures
that wait above for me,
or have my guilty pleasures
torched my destiny?
Does the Lord God understand
that I was just a foolish man,
or did I alter what He e planned
as only a redneck can?
I mean, I was just having fun,
and how quick the time did pass,
a bit like How The West Was Won
and the highlight reel from Jack***.
I sure hope God will crack a smile,
seeing I went out in style.
I think God looks at things differently than we do, Andrew. He says if we give even a cup of cold water in His name, He remembers it. And He says that He looks at the heart while man looks at appearance. I think there are many things we don’t even think about…like being kind to the cashier, helping a neighbor, smiling at a child…that we don’t even give a second thought as it is a passing moment in time, but God remembers. And aiding and rescuing others in the line of duty…He sees and knows the hidden things done to aid others. May you and Barb have a grace-filled Christmas.
Thought-provoking reflection on the prompt. I must admit that some of the things I consider treasure are probably not the things that will be stored up in heaven and perhaps I need to check my heart. Visiting from FMF
Reflection is an opportunity to recalibrate, Kym.
For where my treasure is, there will my heart be. It is a powerful scripture. Thank you Lisa.
