Apples have interesting meanings in the Bible.
Apple of God’s Eye
God’s People are referred to as the apple of His eye.
“He protected him as the apple of His eye.” ~Deuteronomy 32:10e AMP
“He who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.” ~Zechariah 2:8c AMP
David prayed for God’s protection.
“Keep me [in Your affectionate care, protect me] as the apple of Your eye, hide me in the [protective] shadow of Your wings.” ~Psalm 17:8 AMPC
Apples of Gold
God speaks of us holding His words, commandments and teachings as precious in our sight.
“Keep my commandments and live, and My teachings as the apple of your eye.” Proverbs 7:2 NASB
And God speaks of our words having the potential of being precious and valuable.
“Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a word spoken in right circumstances.” ~Proverbs 25:11 NASB

I didn’t realize the term came from the Bible! We only hear about Eve and the forbidden apple.
