April Aspirations has me linking up with Jennifer for Share 4 Somethings.
April Aspirations – Something I Loved
April Aspirations brought forth many blooms which I loved! My husband and I popped down to Ennis, Texas to see the bluebonnets.
And our rose garden started blooming – first with Zephirine Drouhin showcasing its dark pink rose blossoms.
Followed by Belinda’s Dream light pink roses.
And now Red Cascade is bursting forth in its display of miniature red roses. While the flowers are miniature, the plant is not. It is a healthy climber that thickly covers the arch with its awesome display.

April Aspirations – Something I Read
April Aspirations had me reading another great book by Grace Livingstone Hill called Bright Arrows.
After reading two intense books on God’s holiness, I was ready for a lighter read. Though lighter than holiness, Grace Livingston Hill deftly deals with the life of Eden after the death of her parents. Eden discovers Christ as Savior, negotiates through criminal activities against her and her newly inherited estate, and maneuvers through the new world of courtship.
Living between 1865 through 1947, Grace Livingston Hill’s writings are Christ-focused with an emphasis on the Gospel and character growth. Bright Arrows was a pleasure to read.
April Aspirations – Something I Learned
April Aspirations had us learning about a close relative who discovered he has a tumor. Asking the Lord for a promise from His Word, He brought to mind the passage in Isaiah 26.
“The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for in God the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock.” ~Isaiah 26:3-4 NASB
The Lord is kind to surround us with His peace as we walk this healing journey together. He has been faithful to comfort us and He has removed all fear of the future. He has surrounded us with His loving arms, amazing hope, extravagant grace, and perfect peace. He has strengthened our faith through His Words of Life.
April Aspirations – Something I Ate
April Aspirations had us hoping to achieve healthier eating which we managed to do the first three weeks of April. The last week of April we celebrated my youngest daughter’s birthday all week which included several desserts.
We thoroughly enjoyed our chef salads. Chef salad is our version of a salad bar. We start with lettuce and have a wide selection of toppings: tomatoes, boiled eggs, sunflower seeds, celery, carrots, cauliflower, pickles, avocados, etc.
April had me aspiring to make a cucumber salad. I enjoy Panera Bread’s cucumber and tomato salad, so I tried to make a copycat version at home. Cucumbers with Olive Garden Dressing, Basil, and Oregano came pretty close to the restaurant’s flavor. And it is quick and easy to make!
The Lord Bless You
April Aspirations has our hope firmly planted in the truth that the Lord is always with us. He will never leave us or forsake us. May the Lord bless you – whether you currently find yourself in a mountain top experience or in a valley – know He is with you.
“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your Presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me.” ~Psalm 139:7-10 NASB

All the flowers are gorgeous!! Eating great for three out of four weeks is great, celebrate the successes! The cucumber salad looks super yummy! I hope you have a fabulous May 🙂
Thanks, Cindy! I did enjoy the blooms and the salads! 🙂
I remember paging through my Mom’s Grace Livingstone Hill books back in the day. Some reads are simply classics and this author’s writings are, for sure …
They are written for youth, but their lessons are ageless, Linda. A few of them have been made into audiobooks and are a delight to listen too, especially when traveling long distance in the car.
Hi Lisa! Thank you for sharing your beautiful blog post about your rose garden. It sounds like a truly magical place, full of stunning blooms and vibrant colors. I especially love the other pictures you included – those Ennis Bluebonnets are breathtaking! And your Zephirine Drouhin and Belinda’s Dream roses look absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you for taking the time to share these beautiful flowers 🌹🌸🌺 And thank you for sharing these inspiring words and this beautiful scripture from Psalm 139. It’s a powerful reminder that no matter where we are or what we’re going through, God is always with us and His love never fails. May we all be encouraged and strengthened by His presence in our lives. God bless you! 🙏❤️
Oh and … I am sorry to hear about your family member’s recent diagnosis, but I am glad to hear that the Lord has been providing comfort and strength during this difficult time. How is he doing now?
I’m so glad you enjoyed the pictures from our little rose garden, Aritha! I so enjoy your nature pictures from your bike rides, so I wanted to share a few blooms from our area. Yes, it was a good year for bluebonnets and the pasture full of blooms was absolutely stunning.
Thank you, He is guarding our hearts and minds with His peace. We are still on the journey of diagnosis and discovery of treatment.
Lisa, your flowers are beautiful. Thank you for sharing April Aspirations with Sweet Tea & Friends this month.
I’m so glad you enjoyed a glimpse into my little rose garden, Paula, stop by anytime for a visit!
